Traffic Report and September Goals

Did anyone else feel like August just flew by? It seemed like only yesterday that I was sitting down to report on my traffic for July and set some brand new goals for August. And now, it's just all over.

But with that being said, it means some amazing new things have changed in my life and in my business. I'm excited to share those all with you in today's post and give you the behind-the-scenes look you've been waiting for all month long. I'm also really excited to see if I've been able to accomplish my goals or not since I really haven't paid much attention to the completion of them this month. I wanted it to be a surprise.

Before we get into the meat of the post I wanted to share with you all the biggest change that has happened to me this past month.

I've started part-time studies!

You might have noticed that I haven't been quite as active the end of August and that things might be slacking off just slightly on my social media accounts. This is because I've headed back to school for an unrelated program to my graphic design business. I'm actually studying to become a Nail Technician. This takes up roughly half of my weekly time that I used to spend on Studio Krystal so it has been a transition. But I believe this transition has been easy and smooth, you tell me?

So now that you've gotten a peek inside my life, it's time to get down to the real meat and potatoes of this post....the numbers! While I'm still a fairly new business and I'm still continuing to build my business I really love to share these numbers because I think many people can learn from the strategies I use and the outcome that you are going to see today. August was a big month for me in terms of setting up my strategies and content to work around my changing life but I think things really worked out in my favor.

Pageviews: 3,013 (+742)

Users: 1,087 (+281)

Sessions: 1,418 (+314)

Bounce Rate: 58.39% (-0.03)

New Visitors: 71% (+4.3%)

Returning Visitors: 29% (-4.3)

Traffic Sources:

Social: 75.6%

Direct: 16.6%

Referral: 3.2%

Organic: 4.5%

One of my biggest goals this month was to focus on Facebook as my lead traffic source. While you will see in the next section that my Facebook Business Page didn't have much growth it actually brought in 83% of the combined total amount of sessions to my website for the month. Social traffic is by far my biggest asset and I'm hoping to continue this in the future as I work to improve the various platforms that Studio Krystal lives on.

Facebook: 76 (+36)

Twitter: 1.082 (+17)

Pinterest: 619 (+92)

Bloglovin: 28 (+1)

Email Subscribers: 108 (+26)

While my growth on social media has not been huge this month I'm very much okay with that. I feel that I have a dedicated set of followers that genuinely love my brand and want to see the content I post. While I hope that these numbers can grow in the future I'm really happy that as a fairly new business I've been able to accomplish this months numbers.

My business goals for August were pretty simply to me but also pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I loved setting these goals and I loved keeping them in the back of my mind all August long. Below you will see the goals I had set for myself and anything that is in bold means it was accomplished!

  1. Reach 2,500 pageviews over the next thirty-one days
  2. Reach 1,000 users over the next thirty-days
  3. Earn $1,000 - $1,500 of income from my design services
  4. Focus on Facebook Marketing to grow my account and to boost traffic more
  5. Reach 100 Email Subscribers

And coming into September I'm really wanting to just focus on being consistent in my business and with my goals. Because my current path keeps me out of the office and away from my computer I'm really wanting to be careful with the set of goals for this month and to make sure that I'm simply being consistent. Here is what I could like to accomplish:

  1. Reach 2,500 pageviews over the next thirty days
  2. Reach 1,000 users over the next thirty days
  3. Work with 2 new Branding, Website Design or Virtual Assistant clients
  4. Maintain posting once per week including one guest post this month
  5. Better using my 'in office' time to focus on task management and potential client interaction
  6. Brainstorm a strategy to eliminate my e-mail list from my business to create a more streamline and personal system for those wanting to connect with me more

And of course, here at Studio Krystal I'm really all about providing value to my readers and clients in the form of blog content. This past month I shared some really great posts that I don't want you to miss out on:

This month has really been a crazy one for me. But I'm extremely happy that I was able to push myself outside of my comfort zone and come up with some really great traffic information and the completion of my goals. The last couple of weeks have been some of the hardest but I'm really happy that I've been able to continue to push myself even though I've been so exhausted.

In September, I look forward to continuing on the path that I'm on and continuing to grow Studio Krystal and help out so many other online creators. But I'm also looking forward to diving head first back into some huge client projects because that's where my heart and passion really lies within my business.
